To manage your high blood pressure, try reducing your intake of salt and fat. For instance, replace excessive salt with spices and herbs for flavouring. Get your body moving and exercise regularly. This not only strengthens your heart but also helps to destress and relax. Also remember to monitor your blood pressure and seek your doctor's advice if your blood pressure is regularly more than 130/80mmHg!

I saw something like this a few years ago and started to reduce the salt my Dad uses and he got worse and ended up in ER with seizures due to low salt in his system I think it was called hypertramia? Or something like it. So beware of changing up the salt intake before talking to the Dr first.

Thanks for your comment April! In general, for those with hypertension, reducing their salt intake is important to manage their condition. The emphasis is on a low salt diet instead of completely refraining from salt in their diet.

As you mentioned, the amount of salt reduced also matters, especially if one has other predisposing diseases that can lead to hyponatremia or a low sodium concentration in the blood. It is best to consult a doctor first.
